Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, shift your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- First, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Queen Efficiency-Unit 405 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
