Strategies for getting the best New Bern vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. King Suite-Unit 306 - Island Inn Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
