- Private vacation home
Welcome to your vacation beach hideaway in the private Spinnaker’s Reach neighborhood! The neighborhood includes a community pool (across from the beach access), as well as community access to Bogue Sound in neighboring Spinnaker’s Landing.
Our home is a third row oceanside duplex with a roomy reverse floor plan that sleeps 11 in 5 bedrooms. The second-floor master suite includes a king bed, private deck access, and a soaking tub with separate shower in the bathroom. Two additional second floor bedrooms include queen beds and share a hall bath. The third-floor guest room on this level also offers a queen bed and a wardrobe in lieu of a closet. On the first floor, you’ll find a game and bunk room that includes a full-twin bunk.
The cavernous third floor is an open floor plan, including the family room, a brightly lit and well-outfitted kitchen that includes a granite countertop and a dishwasher (of course…who wants to wash dishes on vacation?), plus access to the top-level deck.
We provide linen service with your stay, including completely made beds; two bath towels per person, plus hand towels and wash cloths; bathmats for all bathrooms; and two kitchen towels.
Our amenities include Wi-Fi connectivity, a gas grille, dumbwaiter, full-size hot tub, hot/cold outdoor shower, full-size washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, as well Roku or Intelligent TVs in 3 bedrooms. The family room includes a sizable Intelligent TV and a DVR player, along with an assortment of games and puzzles for rainy days. We also provide a golf cart for your convenience. Please follow posted rules for golf cart use; golf carts are only for neighborhood use, they aren’t allowed on Coast Guard Road.
We welcome your dogs, up to 2 allowed with a $150 non-returnable fee per pet. Emerald Isle accepts dogs on the beach, though they must be on a leash (owner, too!). You’ll find pickup bags at the beach access so you can clean up after your pet and keep our beach clean.
Please note that this is a non-smoking property.
We’re new to Vacation Rental By Owner in 2022 after transitioning to a new property manager. We’ve owned and rented this property since 2013. If you’re familiar with our home, you’ll notice numerous improvements for this season. Already complete: we refreshed the blue bedroom with a new bedspread, replaced numerous pillows (every bed has shams as well as cased pillows), replaced select curtains (to include room darkening curtains in the yellow bedroom to help you sleep later), and in the kitchen we replaced pots and pans and added baking pans. Coming soon, we’ve scheduled new exterior paint, a new sliding door to the second floor deck, plus a new hot tub cover with a lift; we’re also re-upholstering our “Monkey Chair” and couch cushions, as well as repainting the yellow bedroom (a slightly softer yellow). Some of these scheduled activities might be done already if not for supply chain issues. We’ll post new photos as we progress.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Pet Friendly 3rd Row Duplex in Spinnaker's Reach has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
