Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 5 Bedroom, Oceanfront Home (The Amadeus) has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
