Every time of the year is special and there is no bad day at the beach. We've appreciated the strong winds and powerful waves during tropical storms, the awe-inspiring hot days of summer, and the calming cool days of autumn. Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Sanctuary-Relax & Recharge-5BR 3BA -Great Island Location! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
