How to get the best New Bern vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront, Poolside, Summerwinds, ton of amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
