Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beachfront condo with indoor\/outdoor pools, hot tubs, waterslide, & putt-putt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
