Tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book a perfectrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront condo with direct beach access and shared pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
