Tricks and tips for getting the best New Bern rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite New Bern restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. BEAUTIFUL OCEANFRONT 5 BR HOME W ELEVATOR, PRIVATE POOL. 20% OFF JUNE AND AUG has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
