Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking a perfect New Bern rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Soundside Sunset-Gorgeous Soundfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
