Finding the best New Bern vacation home experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the perfectrental home:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. OCEANSIDE CONDO WITH GREAT DECK VIEWS has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
