Tips and Tricks for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
