Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your New Bern rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- Start by having your group decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful 1 Bedroom Suite at the Beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
