Strategies for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the New Bern area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best New Bern rental:

  • First, have your family choose date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Pet-friendly - Full Kitchen - 3 Blocks to Beach! Unit 501 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
