How to book the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 3 Room King Suite-Unit 501 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
