Getting the best New Bern vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Beaufort:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. New 3 BR\/2 bath Suite. Near Historic Beaufort. Kitchen, W\/D, extras! No stairs. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
