Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental home in Beaufort:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New 3 BR/2 bath Suite. Near Historic Beaufort. Kitchen, W/D, extras! No stairs. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
