How to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book a perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Villa with Tropical Pool has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
