Booking the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beach Getaway in the HEART of Atlantic Beach- B has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
