Tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Atlantic Beach Resort-Ramada by Wyndham has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
