Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"A Place at the Beach III\"- Atlantic Beach, NC-July28th-Aug. 4th, 2024 (Only ) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
