Tips to get the perfect New Bern rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Book your New Bern rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Dog-Friendly Duplex Third-Row Up From Beach with Free WiFi, Enclosed Yard has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
