Atlantic Beach vacation rental tips:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. A Place At The Beach III , One-bedroom Unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
