Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A Place at the Beach - 2 bedroom, 2 baths - Pools, Waterslide, Mini-golf & more! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
