How to get the best Pine Knoll Shores rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserve your New Bern rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfect New Bern rental home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 4 bedroom retreat just two blocks from ocean access. Pet-friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
