Tips for getting the perfect New Bern rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 4 bedroom retreat just two blocks from ocean access. Pet-friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
