Strategies to get the very best New Bern rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your New Bern rental:
- First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unit 179 is a 2 BR/2 ba condo on 1ST floor overlooking the pool & courtyard. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
