Get the most from your spending budget:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.

If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
