New Bern vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the right New Bern rental home:
- To start, have your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Sand and Surf a home with awesome views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain New Bern beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
