Tricks and tips for getting the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick your prefect New Bern rental home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Queens Court 3102, Oceanview Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific New Bern destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
