  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
