How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 Minute walk to the ocean, Overlooks the pool!!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain New Bern destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
