Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3 Minute walk to the ocean, Overlooks the pool!!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
