How to find the best Beaufort vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the best New Bern vacation home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Pet-Friendly Suites with a small fee, short walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
