How to find the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your New Bern vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Studio Condo at Atlantic Beach waiting for you to come and play :) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
