Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking your New Bern rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Chateau Relaxo Duex- Remodeled Pool View Condo with Direct Beach & Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
