Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, shift your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Breezin' Blue, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular New Bern beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
