How to get the best New Bern vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing yourrental:
- To start, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming studio condo with wifi, pool, cable - just steps from the ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
