Tricks and tips to get the optimal New Bern vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • First, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Park Place, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
