2. Security Deposit - $500 is immediately charged at time of booking. If the property is left undamaged, keys & parking passes returned, your security deposit will be refunded within 45 days after check out.

About the Area

Located in Atlantic Beach, this condo is on the beach. North Carolina Maritime Museum and Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Triple S Marina and Anchorage Marina. North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway are also worth visiting. With jet skiing, scuba diving, and snorkeling nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water.

Sticking to your spending plan:

• Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
• Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
• Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

• First, have your group select the best dates and a maximum budget.

• Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
• Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.

• Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
• Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
• Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
• During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
• Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
