How to find the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer is high season in the New Bern area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Newly Updated Condo in Indian Beach with Ocean Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
