Our top New Bern rental home booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book the rightrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Islands and Inlets - the best views on the Crystal Coast! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
