Getting the best rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Book your New Bern rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking your New Bern rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Full Duplex, 1 min walk to beach, Peek a Boo Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual New Bern attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
