Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Indian Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea La Vie! 3BR 2BA Waterfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular New Bern beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
