About this Property

Direct shorefront duplex with monumental outdoor space overlooking the dunes and Oceanna Fishing Pier. When you holiday at the beach you want to be AT the beach not near the beach. Keys are included via a lock box so check in has no in person contact.

Our family has owned this unit for over 20 years and constantly are upgrading for our visitors happiness. The winter of 2019 to 2020 gave us an opportunity to do a total modernization with replacing most of the drywall, new floor and fans. We have new modern appliances, outdoor space furnishings just as a hotel would, hammocks below the outdoor space and my favorite feature, outdoor enclosed showers with HOT & cold water for your outdoor showering enjoyment.

New wall colors, more parking and new covered entryway are just a few of the upgrades We give pretty much everything you need to walk in and relax. We give a thoroughly supplied kitchen with spices, paper goods (when in brief supply bring toilet paper and paper towels but we do start you off) , zip lock bags, aluminum foil ( bottom drawer beside refrigerator has paper towels and toilet paper) and just ask that you restock if you have time so the next guest has everything they need.

Each unit is a mirror image of the other except for color schemes and floor. Both are modernized annually and have been happily shared with our visitors for 20+ years. The Vacation Rental By Owner listing for the sister listing is 666411 so you can read the reviews there if you like, until this new posting generates more reviews on its own. We also have a new cleaning crew who lives locally to keep the unit in great shape all over the season and follows current 2020 cleaning recommendations. Each side has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths plus the outdoor shower provides outdoor appreciation when you come back from the beach. The monstrous outdoor outdoor space accepts everybody to spend time outdoor and eat on the outdoor space too if you like. It's a great experience preparing your food with the supplied outdoor grille, just replaced in 2019. 2019 & 20 upgrades include a few new ceiling fans, new 4 burner stainless steel grille, new couch, new dishwasher and new twin XL beds in the 3rd bedroom. The queen and king were both replaced in 2018 and the master bathroom was enlargened with a excellent new tile shower. If you adore sunsets and sunrises please look at our photos. You'll notice very few sunrise photos (by choice) but tons of sunset photos. This is a rare east/west facing beach so you get awe-inspiring sunrises and unbelievable sunsets. We give beach chairs and some toys for the children too.

Having the pier just a few hundred yards away is an delight you are sure to appreciate. Even if you don't fish you can walk on the pier and see if anyone else is having luck and relish a libation from their bar or better yet, make one and take it with you. If you like to surf, either side of the pier creates fantastic breakers and has always been known as one of the most first-rate surf spots on the island. If you would rather fish and don't like the pier, surf fishing right in front of our home can give lunch or dinner!

You'll quickly notice our beach is very generous, wide, tidy and relatively uncrowded. Our end of the beach is primarily single family homes for low density uncrowded beaches. If you want to walk the beach you can head towards the circle (town center for Atlantic Beach) and visit the world famed TackleBox (locals dive bar) or eat at one of multiple eateries. Just a few blocks from our unit can have you at Amos
Mosquito's, arguably one of the most great eateries around and the Island Grille which is just up the street. It may be modest but the food is striking. You can always drive over to the Morehead City waterfront and choose between 10 different eateries or head over to Beaufort and shop and dine on the waterfront.

Whithaven is a special place, I hope you get the opportunity to join us and see for yourself.

How to get the best deal on your rental

  • Search for the official tourism bureau where you want to travel. Many official tourism bureaus supply promotional guides with special offers for rental homes, restaurants and activities. Keep an eye out for these books and coupon books, because this allows visitors to take advantage of the same terrific activities at a often considerable discounted.
  • Desire to stay away from crowds of people and cut costs? Shoulder seasons feature amazing offers.
  • Are you a armed forces veteran? Plenty of management companies offer price savings to veterans and active-duty forces. Make sure to ask property management company to see if your visiting crew is eligible for a special offer.
  • Is there a specific activity that you are mainly longing for ? If there's a specific New Bern activity you simply love, be on the lookout for properties that cater especially to you.
  • Vacation rental companies and individual rental home owners commonly offer their clients an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you somewhere between 1% - 5% of the base rental price, provides visitors reimbursement of their rental costs for any nights missed due to personal medical related emergencies or hurricanes, and additionally ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, like an unexpected hotel room stay or extra fuel.

The Rental Process

Some people are surprised to discover how many rental properties are located in New Bern. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of rental properties available allows them to find an ideal getaway to suit their New Bern gang, from relaxing condos to large event homes with several bedrooms.

Virtually all rental properties in New Bern are privately owned and many are represented by established local property management agencies. Owners frequently select management companies to facilitate online advertising, housekeeping services and maintenance.

Seasoned New Bern vacationers have figured out a few tips and tricks over the years when it comes to renting rental properties, however many newcomers will be happy to know that several "tricks" are in plain sight, if you know where to look.

How to find and book the right rental home:

Do you believe "DIRECT OCEANFRONT Duplex with large 3 level deck next to Oceanana Fishing Pier." is the perfect vacation property for your upcoming vacation? Read through this checklist to ensure it fits your preferences.

Start Your Search Early

Like many popular vacation spots, In New Bern the best rentals are booked early. To find the best selection, start your planning and search Six-12 months prior to a trip. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to find and book your vacation rental home..

Choose your Place and Travel Week

Agreement can be tricky between members of the family, but the moment this challenging part is finished everything will start to slide in place.

Selecting an Adequately-Sized Rental

How many family members are joining your vacation? Be mindful that a lot of properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in the living room space. You'll need to determine what is acceptable for the party. Most rental home listings will summarize each one of the unit's specific bedrooms and mattress sizes.

Establish Your Budget

Will your chosen rental fit your budget during that prime Summer week? If several individuals or family members are sharing the cost, make sure each group knows their obligation and has agreed to a maximum they are willing to pay. A single member of your company will need to be given the task of collecting payments and accepting responsibility for the entire rental price at time of booking.

Its All About Amenities

What home features is the group interested in? Is a screened-in deck a requirement? Would you like to be away from it all, or near a city setting? Are linens included with the rental, or do you need to bring your own? Make a list of prioritized "necessities and preferences" from your party to help filter your search to the most suitable home.

Special Issues

Oftentimes the elder generation has problems with staircases. Ensure that you remember and inquire about wheelchair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..

Fido Approved

Make sure to include your furrry friends. Although a number of vacation homes allow furry friends, guidelines and charges vary per property. Many limitations might eliminate a potential rental. Study your contract thoroughly! Charges may apply when pets are added.

Start the Search

Many websites exist to match clients with rental home owners.. In combination with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we advise searching Google for "New Bern local vacation rentals" for local property management companies. Local vacation home management companies proudly offer a first-class vacation experience.

Negotiate the Price

Re-read the description to ensure the vacation rental has everything that you need. If it is something is missing, the home management company might know of very similar homes that fit your style and budget..

Although not true for all rental homes, many property owners and property managers will make a deal on rates. If the price isn't negotiable, the number of nights might be. Negotiating rates is most effective during the off-peak season when many homes sit empty.

Study The Agreement

It is advisable to know which services are included:

  • Utilities
  • WIFI Access
  • Long Distance Calls
  • Pool and hot tub heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning Fees
  • Trash collection
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Fees

Make sure your price includes all state taxes and fees.

Cancellation Policies

Be sure you are familiar with the cancellation policy before booking. Many rental property agreements include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance safeguards the renter against emergency situations and weather events, It gives you comfort should catastrophe strike.

Complete the Reservation

When everything seems right, it's finally time for you to sign on the dotted line. Bear in mind that most rental agreements will require a significant rental down payment and/or security deposit to protect the rental owner.

Know Who to Call

Make sure to get the manager's contact telephone number and entry/exit procedures for your vacation property. We recommend saving the contact's details in your cell phone and wallet.

Congrats! All that is left is making the most of your visit!

During your Stay

  • Photograph on your arrival. Take notes of any wear and tear as soon as you arrive. If you find problems, or if fixes are needed contact the rental manager right away. This may protect against disputes during checkout.
  • If you have any ambiguity about parking, rules of the house, house access, pool operations, etc... we advise you ask the rental home manager immediately. A phone call can save hours of hassle.
  • Don't forget to be a good neighbor. . Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a vacation much more relaxing.
  • Ask a local. Natives are a good source of recommendations. Who better to ask where to order the best pizza, have a great night out, or the best spots for wildlife?
  • Enjoy your stay! Make sure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the home secured while you are away, just like you would in your own home.

Checking Out

  • Double-check every space of the rental property to ensure that you've gathered all belongings.
  • Be sure to walk through the rental one final time and check for property damage. Whenever possible, do this walk-out assessment with the property manager present. If the property owner is not available, make sure you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your vacation? Many rental home management companies and rental home sites permit renters to give reviews. If your property and/or property manager was excellent, they'll appreciate your compliments. If anything went wrong and they didn't correct it in a practical manner, or when the property wasn't as described, you'll want to note that as part of your critique.

Use Your Experience

Did everyone have a great time? Hopefully this guide helped you find a great rental unit. Maybe the rental property wasn't quite right, and you'll better understand how to improve your search for the next trip.
