Our top New Bern rental home booking tips:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Middle of the Row Duplex, Quiet, and Cozy, 3 bed/2 bath has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
