How to find the best Beaufort rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:
- To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Olde Towne Yacht Club 312, Soundfront Condo in Beaufort, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
