Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- First, have your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful Oceanfront Condo on the Southern Outer Banks has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
