Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the New Bern area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Newly renovated: Atlantic Beach Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
