Strategies to get the best New Bern rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. A Place At The Beach Unit 168 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
