Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. A Place at the Beach III Family Resort. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
