Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Reserve your New Bern vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental home:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Upstairs portion of beautiful 2nd-row duplex with ocean view, central AC, & WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
