Our top Rental property booking tips:
When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:
- To find the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the perfect New Bern rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Steps to the beach! Hear the waves & feel the breeze! Your home away from home! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
