Getting the best New Bern rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your New Bern rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Renovated Cottage with Private Free Oceanfront Parking and Outdoor Shower has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific New Bern beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
